Painted Pumpkin Patch at SUU

Southern Utah University students were able to dive right into the Halloween spirit on Tuesday the 29, during this year’s Pumpkin Painting Party. The event was hosted by the Student Programming Board in the Student Center Ballroom and saw a great turnout of students eager to  create their pumpkin masterpieces.

Students were able to choose a smaller pumpkin that they could paint individually, or they could tag team and share a larger pumpkin. Conner Quiring and his wife Ajhamae decided to come to the event for their weekly date night. “We thought about painting a pumpkin together, but I wanted to prove to him that I was the better artist between us,” said Ajhamae.

It was a relaxing night for everybody who was able to make it out, for couples and friends alike. Event director, David Parker, said, “We just want to make sure that students have fun. It’s important to the SPB that everyone has a place to go and meet new friends.”

The international students especially enjoyed the chance to participate in one of Halloween’s oldest traditions. “Where I am from in China, Halloween is very different than in America. Growing up, I didn’t even know that people did this, and I am glad that I could try it while I was here at SUU,” said Ellie Yin.

SUU is truly dedicated to creating the ultimate Halloween experience for everyone.
