Canyon View High School is set to perform “The Addams Family Musical.” Many people know “The Addams Family” as a cartoon which was made into a TV series in 1964. While the series lasted only two seasons, two movies were released in 1991 and 1993. Since then, “The Addams Family Musical” has become a hit play.

Holly Barrick, the drama teacher at CVHS, is the musical director and choreographer of the play.

“(‘The Addams Family’) is actually the #1 high school musical right now,” Barrick said. “… and it’s such a fun musical.”

“The Addams Family Musical” features the lovable, undead family years in the future. Wednesday Addams, dual cast as Kate Harris and Catherine Chamberlain, has fallen in love and wants to get married. The play follows the family through their misadventures as they try to appear “normal” to their soon-to-be in-laws.

The cast, comprised of over 60 teenagers, comes together in many songs and dances with skill. The set and costumes are carefully thought out and transport the audience to the eerie home in Central Park. Overall, the play is entertaining and is recommended to all audiences.

The play runs Nov. 1-4 and 6 at 7 p.m. with a matinee showing Saturday, Nov. 4 at 1 p.m. Tickets are $7 at the door. Canyon View High School is located at 166 W. 1925 North and the auditorium is located in the southeast corner of the building.
