Cedar City’s concert lineup 3/31-4/5/26

This week, Cedar City will be showcasing live jazz, three open mics and a rock concert. Here are some opportunities to see talented local musicians this week.

Tuesday, April 31

The Johnson Arts Center at 59 N. 100 W. will present its weekly SokHop performance. This week, the venue will hold an open mic night. Community members can gather to hear all kinds of music and local talent for $5 starting at 7:30 p.m.

Elaina McEntee will be performing her senior horn recital. The performance will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Thorley Recital Hall and is open to the public and free to attend.

SUU’s Jazz Ensemble Two will present their Jazz In The Living Room concert at 7:30 p.m. in the Sharwan Smith Student Center Living Room. The concert is free, open to the public and dancing is encouraged. 

Wednesday, April 1

SUU will be hosting Thunder 91’s annual Thunderground Throwdown competition starting at 6 p.m. Local solo artists are going to compete against each other for a cash prize and bragging rights. Come support your favorite local artists and listen to some great tunes. This competition is free to attend. 

Thursday, April 2

The Bop-Cats will perform their weekly live jazz show in the Sharwan Smith Student Center Living Room starting at noon. Catch them between classes or jam out during your lunch break to standard classics and new tunes.

Friday, April 3

Mia Thebeau will be performing her junior viola recital. The performance will begin at 7 p.m. in the Thorley Recital Hall and is open to the public and free to attend.

Saturday, April 4

The SUU Commercial Music program will present its Red Rock, Red Planet concert at 7:00 p.m in the Thorley Recital Hall. See students jam out on stage and showcase the skills they’ve learned. The concert is free and open to the public. 

Penelope Campion will perform her senior recital at 3 p.m. in the Thorley Recital Hall. The performance is free and open to the public. Crêpes will be provided after the performance.

The Willow Glen Resort at 3308 N. Bulldog Road will host various artists for their weekly open mic night. The Roadhouse Wranglers will kick off the evening with a performance at 7 p.m. Afterwards, anyone is welcome to get up on stage and share their talents.
