Southern Utah University is set to hold its annual Thunderground Throwdown on Wednesday, April 1st, from 6 to 9 p.m.
The event, put on by SUU’s radio station, Thunder 91.1, provides an opportunity for local musical artists to battle it out in hopes of winning the top prize. The event will be held in the living room in the Sharwan Smith Student Center.
Thunderground Throwdown acts as a companion to the Battle of the Bands, Thunder 91’s big event of the fall semester, but instead of bands competing, every performance at Thunderground will be entirely solo. With no backing bands, the talent and artistry of these solo performers will be on full display.
The solo performers will be competing for cash, as well as prizes from Cedar Music, Whittlesticks and more.
Students will be able to attend the event for free and enjoy a night of live music, alongside snacks, treats and a soda bar.
