SUMA displays student art in an exhibit titled “Volonté”

The Southern Utah Museum of Art is hosting an exhibition highlighting graduating fine arts students. The exhibition is running from March 28 to April 24, 2026. It will be accessible during regular museum hours, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday-Saturday.

An opening reception will be held on Tuesday, March 31, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with free refreshments and a chance to meet the artists.

The work is a culmination of their time at Southern Utah University in the department of art, filmmaking and design.

According to SUMA, students’ capstone projects will be on display, demonstrating their ability to visualize, develop and create a cohesive body of work to kick-start their careers in the professional art world.

Work from 37 students using multiple media, including graphic design, illustration, ceramics, photography, painting, drawing, and printmaking, is included in the showcase.

The exhibit is called Volonté, a French word meaning wish, will or testament, and provides students with one final wish or piece of themselves to leave behind at SUU.
