Rock out and boogie on at Woodshed Music Festival

The first annual Woodshed Music Festival is being held from Thursday, Oct. 10 to Saturday, Oct. 11 at Willow Glen RV Resort. Festival goers will have the opportunity to hear music from regional and local musicians and make purchases from local art vendors.

Tickets are $10 for Friday’s show, $15 for Saturday’s or $20 for both days. Friday’s performances go from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m and Saturdays go from 12:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Featured artists include rock band Runaway Fire, the Muddy Boots band, Seizer, the Roadhouse Wranglers and more. The genres being played range from country to rock and roll to alternative to jazz.

Brad and Charlotte Lark are the owners of Willow Glen RV Resort and their goal is to put Cedar City on the map.

“Music is a driving force that brings people together just to relax, dance, listen to the music and feel the vibe,” said Brad Lark. “It’s the feeling that touches your soul when you’re listening to a great band and you hear the vocals of some fantastic singer and you’re like, ‘oh my gosh, that’s just amazing.’ It’ll make you cry, and we’re just trying to bring some of that to Cedar.”

The resort hosts live music at their restaurant on a weekly basis already, and Brad Lark describes their venue as music-centric.

They have three stages, one of which is newly built into a truck bed. Their largest stage is indoors and the shows will go on, rain or shine.

“This is a showcase for all the bands that I’ve been associating with. I’m a 40-year bass player, so I know the deal. I’ve been around the block and it’s so much fun to get together on a weekend and tear it up and have a good time,” shared Lark.

The Willow Glen’s motto is “Good Times,” and that is exactly what they hope to bring to people who attend their festival.

Lark explained he hopes this will be the first of many Woodshed Festivals and has big plans for the future.

“I want to see this overflow my little realm here at the Willow Glen and the other venues in town. I want all the venues in town busy on the Woodshed weekend, every venue packed with fantastic players,” said Lark.
