Pot Party at SUU

On Friday, September 28th Southern Utah University joined the Non-Traditional Office along with the Student Programming Board to present the first Pot Party.

The event was put together in order to  “get students out and not only let them have an experience but let them have something they could take home with them” said Izabell Slade of the Student Programming Board who planned the event.

The succulent party became a huge success with students lining the Student Center rotunda before the event eager to get their hands on the craft inside.

Students were able to not only get a free succulent but also to paint the pot for it to grow inside. While the Student Programming board saw more students than there were pots available, those in attendance didn’t seem to mind.

“Everyone that I talked to has been very understanding” stated Izabell “We still wanted to come out and create the best for the students […] it’s not exactly what we wanted but everyone is still having a good time”.

The pot party saw great success in student and staff involvement by including child care for non-traditional students and plenty of creative space for T-Birds to design beautiful pots.

The Student Programming Board’s next event will be the Dive-In movie “Ant-Man and the Wasp” on Wednesday, October 10th.
