SUUDO to host Halloween-themed dance classes for all skill levels

Southern Utah University Dance Organization will host Halloween dance classes on Saturday, Oct. 31, at Multipurpose Center Room 116. The event is open to SUU students and community members, split into three age-targeted sessions.

Sessions include the Pumpkin Party Dance Jam for elementary children from 10:15-11:15 a.m., the Boo-gie Bash Dance Jam for middle and high school advanced dancers from 12:30-1:30 p.m. and Thrills & Chills Dance Jam for SUU students from 4-5 p.m.

Guests can wear dance-friendly Halloween costumes. A suggested $5 donation will fund SUUDO programming and help SUU Dance attend the American College Dance Association Conference.

“Our Halloween dance classes are different from regular classes, because we’ve added a fun Halloween twist to them. Each class is themed and will have different activities depending on which one you are in,” Nesi McKenzie and Bobbi Torgerson of the SUUDO board said.

The organizers added that no prior dance experience is necessary to join.

“You don’t need any previous dance experience to participate. SUUDO welcomes all students of every dance level to participate in this event,” they said.

All attendees must complete pre-registration and sign a liability waiver before joining.
