SUU Alumni Association offers free food around campus with Lunch on Main

The free food and drinks were handed out at the Rotunda, Old Main, the Library, Old Sorrel, the Centurium and the ELC Patio. Hot dogs, popcorn, sandwiches and more were served.

With plates in hand, students weren’t missing the opportunity to get free launches and get their miles around campus. Besides the food,  participants were given a stamped passport at each station. Those who visited at least four locations could turn in their passport at the Grace A. Tanner Center for a chance to win prizes.

“This was my first time participating in lunch on main,” said student Natalie Watson. “I thought that it was a fun way to get out around campus and learn a bit more about the founders and free food is always great! I loved that there was a variety of sweet and savory foods.”

Lunch on Main is one of 50 traditions students can take part in during their time at SUU. Many of them, like Back Up The Mountain and High 5’s & Fries, are spotlighted during Founders Week. It serves as both a cel

ebration and an opportunity for students to connect with the history of the university and the founders who shaped it.

“I learned more about our founders and some of the namesakes of our campus buildings,” added Watson. “I am planning on doing the High 5’s & Fries thing tomorrow and the Fitness with the Founders and the day of service.”

Founders Week runs through March 28. A full schedule of events is available on the SUU News website. Along with that, students interested in helping others participate in campus traditions can apply to join the SAA.
