Brian Head Resort opens as the first in Utah this year

Brian Head has officially opened for the 2025-2026 season, being the first in Utah this year. Attendees kicked off opening weekend on Friday, Nov. 21 with events and a day on the slopes.

The weekend began with a First Chair celebration at the Navajo Express Lift. The resort served refreshments and hosted multiple prize giveaways.

Five trails were opened for opening day, including Paradise and The Strip, both serviced by Navajo Express. Additional lifts, including Giant Steps, will open later in the season as conditions permit.

Stores and restaurants were also open throughout the resort with a variety of gear, memorabilia and warm meals and drinks.

Lift tickets are available now for as low as $14 on select days. Brian Head also offers family and young adult deals.

“We decided to make a trip out of it for everyone, especially considering how cheap it was to bring the whole family,” said a resort attendee.

The resort has continued snowmaking on Navajo and Giant Steps Mountain. Snow is currently forecasted in the Brian Head area next Sunday, Nov. 30.

“For the 2025–2026 season, snowmaking has been expanded on Navajo Mountain, allowing more beginner and intermediate terrain to open earlier and remain open longer,” said Brian Head official, James Graven.

The resort will be open daily until May, 2026 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on weekdays and 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on weekends.
