The CCCMT Wizard Christmas Festival

The Cedar Cedar Children’s Musical Theatre Organization is hosting its annual wizard-themed fundraiser on Nov. 7-8 and 14-15 this year.

An executive team of local volunteers and children of CCCMT works to provide attendees with a magical experience. Located at 150 East Altamira Ave. in Cedar City, CCCMT runs the festival out of its theatre and rehearsal hall.

On Nov. 7-8, and 14-15, attendants can experience the festival walk-through. On Nov. 10 and 17, attendants have dinner and watch a show. CCCMT puts on its festival to fund the theatre with performances, sets and children’s participation.

CCCMT’s festival is dedicated to the children’s growth and experience. Their mission statement explains that the theatre accepts all children’s participation.

“One of the things that we focus on is providing opportunities for kids, whether they have experience or the ability to pay,” said Krause. “We have a good number of kids who are scholarshipped, we want them to be a part of the show even if they can’t afford to. Fundraisers help us to do that.”

The festival provides shops to browse, a garden walk-through, nightly performances and many magical items at affordable prices. One of the shops, “Matters of Fine Wands and Things,” is dedicated to selling wizard wands, swords and toy weapons.

“When people go to Universal Studios, they spend $60 plus on a wand there. We get our luxe wands from the same manufacturer that they get theirs from. We sell ours for $20 with a box, $15 without a box,” said Co-Founder of CCCMT Kevin Krause.

The staff’s attention to detail provides the fundraiser with extra fun for attendees.

“The attention to detail is amazing with the space that they have to use, they were able to do so much. I’m impressed by how much they have done. I love it,” said attendee Lori Losse

On Nov. 10 and 17, CCCMT hosts two nights of their “Show and Feast.”Attendees are provided with a feast, and the kids perform a parody of wizard fun. Nov. 14-15 is a walk-through with a $5 entry fee to provide access to the shops,  photo-op walk-through and entry to the grand hall. The festival is open on Fridays from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m.
