Local craftsmen will showcase their handmade creations at the Sonrise Autumn Craft Fair on Saturday, Nov. 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sonrise Christian Church.
“In our church, we have a lot of ladies who do hobby crafts, making aprons and different sewing projects, jewelry, all kinds of stuff,” said event organizer Sheryl Koltvet. “I thought it would be nice to have a fair where people could show what they make and shop for Christmas.”
The event will feature nearly 30 vendors offering artisanal gifts and decor. Admission for shoppers and vendor booths is free.
“I can only clean my house so much, so (crafting is) an artistic, creative outlet that keeps me busy,” shared Koltvet.
A chili and cornbread lunch will be available for purchase at the event, with all proceeds being donated to Henry’s Place, a nonprofit organization offering retreat camps for underprivileged youth. Additionally, 15% of vendors’ sales revenue will be donated to support this cause.
Established in 2016, Henry’s Place provides children primarily from the Las Vegas area with outdoor experiences centered on faith, teamwork and character building.
Sonrise Church is also hosting the Night of Unity Prayer on Tuesday, Nov. 19th, a monthly event where members of several local churches meet together to pray for the community and political leaders.
