It looks like fall is delayed this year, as our Thunderbirds Weather Forecast is the warmest we’ve seen over these past couple of weeks.
As we move closer to the month of October, we were expecting an incline in the temperature. Colorful leaves and crisp mornings are slowly making their way to Cedar City, but the daytime temperatures are still holding onto the summer season.
Monday, Sept. 22 through Wednesday, Sept 24, plan for sunny conditions, with the warmest temperature reaching 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
Although the days are hot, these warmer temperatures will benefit nighttime events at SUU, like the Battle of the Bands on Wednesday night.
Temperatures will slowly decline into the mid to high 70s over the weekend. Sunny conditions will remain, but wind speeds will pick up to about 12 miles per hour.
Luckily, Cedar City residents are experienced when it comes to these high wind speeds.
The sun will begin setting earlier this week as it grows closer to the end of daylight saving time. Expect sunsets around 7:30 p.m. each night and sunrises around 7 a.m. each morning.
Coming up on Sunday, Nov. 2, everyone will gain an hour of sleep as clocks will be moved back an hour.
There is still time to plan picnics, lake days and other warm weather activities, but plan to change out your summer wardrobe in a few weeks time.
