This year’s Casino Night, themed “A Night in NYC,” will be held on Saturday, March 22 from 8 p.m. until midnight in the Sharwan Smith Student Center. Hosted by Southern Utah University’s Student Programming Board, this tradition is one of the most anticipated events of the school year.
Throughout the building, there will be a variety of games for students to deal into, from black jack to craps and even bingo. Additionally, there will be refreshments and photo opportunities.
This evening allows students to engage in table games without actually putting their own money on the line. Attendees will be allotted a credit upon entry , which can be used to pay their way into games of their choosing. Depending on their luck, gamblers may be able to leave the event with prizes provided by the SPB.
“There will be some different activities this year,” Alexis Garcia, member of the SPB, teased.
Those who come to Casino Night are encouraged to dress up, using the theme as guidance.
“We focused on giving the students the opportunity to express themselves through different clothing choices,” said Garcia. “For example dressing casual as a New York tourist, or in your best dress for the MET gala.”
Accessories wise, only clear bags will be allowed in the building.
“Students can expect to have a fun time, enjoy new experiences and have a taste of city life in a small college town,” she said.
Students will use their student ID to get in. Non-student tickets can be purchased at the STIL office, ST 177.
