The Orchestra of Southern Utah will hold their second annual “Rock Gold” concert on Thursday, Nov 14, at 7:30 p.m. It will take place in the Heritage Center Theater. Adult tickets are $15 and student tickets are $10. Unlike other OSU concerts, tickets for Rock Gold will need to be reserved and purchased in advance, as the show is very popular and nearly sold out.
Vol.1 of Rock Gold was a huge success, and OSU has been looking forward to bringing it back to the community. New and returning performers are ready to bring rock ‘n’ roll back to Cedar City in this Thursday’s performance.
“The success of our first Rock Gold concert two seasons ago has had an impact on the choices of music and programming for Rock Gold Vol.2,” said OSU Director and Conductor Carylee Zwang. “I have excitedly planned and chosen music for all of you, our biggest OSU supporters!”
Rock Gold will feature a selection of well known rock and pop hits from bands ABBA, Coldplay, Metallica and more. Along with large ensemble numbers, many talented Cedar City locals will perform vocal and instrumental solos of these hit songs.
OSU has also included Southern Utah University students in this year’s show by inviting the SUU Concert Choir to perform multiple numbers.
This will be a high-energy, headbanging concert with drums, guitars, vocals and of course; the Symphony Orchestra of Southern Utah. OSU has asked that children under the age of six not attend, but for everyone else, it will be a fun and affordable night of live music. Tickets are very limited at this point, but they can still be purchased at myosu.org.
