Football looks to extend winning streak on the road against Central Arkansas

After a successful home game, the Southern Utah University football team will go back on the road against Central Arkansas University on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 3 p.m. This game can be streamed on ESPN+.

Southern Utah
The Thunderbirds enter this game 5-5 on the season and 4-2 in the United Athletic Conference after a solid win on Saturday. Southern Utah is 3-1 in their last four games, with their only loss coming to No. 15 ranked Abilene Christian University.

Southern Utah has looked great offensively in recent weeks. In the last five games, quarterback Jackson Berry has thrown for 944 yards and seven touchdowns with only two interceptions. His top receiving options, Gabe Nunez and Shane Carr, combine for an impressive 1,022 yards and eight touchdowns this season.

Targhee Lambson has continued to dominate, adding 166 yards and three touchdowns last week. He leads the Football Championship Subdivision in rushing with 1,597 yards and is second in rushing touchdowns with 20. His efforts are essential for a Southern Utah victory.

Lando Brown leads the pass rush with four sacks and 10 tackles for loss. George Ramirez leads the defense with 75 tackles, including six tackles for loss and two interceptions.

Jayden Robertson is another great secondary player with his conference-leading four interceptions. This defense has to be sharp in order to stop the Bear’s great offense.

Central Arkansas

Receiver Trejan Bridges is his number one target, who has 601 receiving yards and four touchdowns this season.

ShunDerrick Powell has been a solid running back for the team, with 1227 yards on the ground and 13 rushing touchdowns. He is accompanied by Darius Hale, who has 654 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns this season.

Central Arkansas has an impressive defensive unit as well. Linebacker David Walker leads the UAC in sacks with 9. Fellow linebacker Jace Benesch leads the team in tackles with 96.
