On Nov. 23, the Southern Utah University Student Programming Board is planning their first ever lumberjack themed activity known as the Flannel Fling.
Students are encouraged to come dressed up in their best lumberjack gear and get ready to chop it like it’s hot with activities like axe throwing, tire throwing and a sawing.
SPB’s goal was to help students get their mind off of studying and relax before finals chop us down.
“We wanted to do something different than we normally do,” said Bayli Alexander, SPB Event Director. “It also helps that axe throwing is very popular.”
Students who participate in the games will each receive a punch card that they can use to enter a chance to win several prizes, with the grand prize being a new Hydro Flask.
The event is free for all students who bring their student IDs. The Flannel Fling will run from 7-9 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom.
For more information, visit the STIL office in the Student Center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mon.-Fri., or email the SPB Event Director in charge of the event at baylimalexander@gmail.com.
