SUUSA Meeting 4/9/2019

The Southern Utah University Student Association (SUUSA) held their weekly senate meeting on Tuesday, April 9 to go over current campus issues.

SUUSA has spent roughly 70 percent of its allotted budget for club and individual funding this year.

The committee funded $195 to the Cycling Club and $350 to the Mixed Martial Arts Club for operational costs.

SUUSA approved funding of $1,130 to the Native American Student Association for drum-circle performances at the groups’ “pow-wow” events.

The committee also approved funding of  $1200 to the Distributive Education Clubs of America for travel costs to attend the Career Development Conference on the weekend of April 27.

SUU’s Philosophy Club reported that their conference, on the weekend of March 27, was successful as the attendance improved threefold from last year. The conference was funded by SUUSA.

SUUSA helped put on the first ever Humanities and Social Sciences Career panel at SUU in the Sterling Church Auditorium on April 8. Attendees received career advice from experienced members of the field.

Meet Your New SUUSA will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Student Center Rotunda on Tuesday, April 18.

For those interested in becoming more involved on campus, SUUSA Senate meetings are held every Tuesday in the Sterling Church Auditorium at 11:30 a.m.
