SUUSA Senate Meeting 11/06

The Southern Utah University Student Association (SUUSA) held their weekly meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 6 to go over current campus issues.

SUUSA President D’Mia Lamar attended Utah State University-Eastern last Friday for the monthly Utah Student Association (USA) meeting. At the meeting, the USA board began creating a video to promote prevention, identify resources and raise awareness of sexual assault on Utah campuses. The goal is to film the project at their next USA meeting at Dixie State on Nov. 30.

SUUSA has reached out to Provost Cook to try and extend the hours of operation for the campus library. Cook is currently exploring the possibility of this motion.

The Business program is planning on shooting a series of videos to promote growth in the department. Video content will include information on resources and career coaching. An official date for the event has not been announced. All business professors and business club members will participate.

SUUSA is trying to push MySUU Voice in the spring to make a more interactive campus experience.

“In our last Meet Your SUUSA event, we focused on feedback about particular classes and the reasons for those feelings,” Lamar said. “One of the major things we’re doing is trying to reign in on feedback type.”

For those interested in becoming more involved on campus, SUUSA Senate meetings are held every Tuesday in the Sterling Church Auditorium at 11:30 a.m.
