The SUU International Student office has opened applications for International Student Ambassadors for the 2018-2019 school year. The positions give students opportunities to gain cultural experiences, assist with event planning, learn leadership skills and make new friends.
According to the ISA website, “The purpose of the International Student Ambassador organization is to support International Student and Scholar Services in their retention efforts and to bring diversity and cultural sensitivity to campus. The ISA organization plans and executes activities, programs and events designed to engage students at SUU from all over the world.”
“Anyone and everyone is welcome to apply,” Jamie Orton, director of International Student and Scholar Services, said.
Aside from cultivating a dynamic environment of growth and learning on campus, students involved with ISA are provided with unique opportunities to become more culturally aware of and engage with students from all over the world.
Any full-time student interested in joining ISA can apply by visiting the ISA website and completing an application for either a position for general membership or a seat on the ISA executive council.
The deadline to apply as an International Student Ambassador is Saturday, March 31. Questions about the open positions, or the program itself, should be directed to Orton at ortonj@suu.edu.
