T&F Stacks Up More Impressive Performances As Competition Concludes In Flagstaff

Competition at the Mountain T’s Invitational came to a close on Saturday, with several more Thunderbirds putting up impressive marks following a more than impressive effort on Friday night.

Sinclair Watson and Mia Russell put on a show in the women’s 60-meter dash. Watson finished with a converted time of 7.68 and Russell finished with a mark of 7.79. Watson’s time puts her second all-time in the SUU record book, and Russell’s puts her eighth all-time.

Russell also set a PR in the 400-meter dash with a converted time of 56.94. That puts her ninth all-time in SUU history.

Justin Lewis picked up a victory in the men’s 400-meter dash with a converted time of 47.67, which puts him third all-time in the history of the program.

Dual sport athlete Isaiah Diego-Williams, who is coming off a Big Sky Championship football season, finished the 60-meter dash in a converted time of 6.90. That mark puts him sixth all-time in the history of SUU.

Erik Ostrom set a personal best in the men’s heptathlon, finishing in second place with a score of 4,755. That score puts him fifth all-time in the SUU record book.

For the second day in a row Ogochukwu Nwachukwu had an impressive showing, finishing second in the weight throw.
