On Feb. 8, popular music sensation, The Piano Guys, will return to SUU to put on a concert in the America First Event Center. Mixing modern music and classical instruments, The Piano Guys create a show that students, alumni and community members of all ages can unite to enjoy on campus.
The idea to eventually bring The Piano Guys to SUU first came five years ago. This idea was finally made a reality in February of last year, and after a sold-out stadium and successful performance, the staff and alumni were eager to bring them back.
The planning for this concert has been underway for about a year. Around 80 people, including students, alumni, staff and tech crews will work on and get experience producing this show.
Having The Piano Guys at SUU unifies the community, as well as giving students who are in Event Management classes hands-on practical experience in producing a concert.
Mindy Benson, Vice President of Alumni and Community Relations, voices the enthusiasm of staff and alumni for the concert.
“We’re excited to have The Piano Guys back at SUU,” Benson said. “Their show is high energy, incredibly fun and includes a few fun surprises. They are remarkable musicians who engage with their audiences, which makes for a fantastic time for all.”
