No. 15 Southern Utah at UC Davis: Senior quarterback Patrick Tyler passed for 370 yards, three TD and two interceptions to lead SUU to a 47-27 road win over UC Davis. Sophomore running back Jay Green rushed for 64 yards and two TD in the win. Junior wide receiver Ty Rutledge caught three passes for 105 yards and two TD. The TDs were Rutledge’s first scores of the season. The win was historic for SUU, marking the first time they’ve ever won eight Division 1 games in a season.
No. 19 Eastern Washington at North Dakota: Freshman quarterback Eric Barriere tallied 185 all-purpose yards and two TD to lead EWU to a 21-14 win over North Dakota. Barriere was filling in for junior Gage Gubrud, who didn’t play due to a violation of team rules. Both teams defenses played a solid game, especially in the second half where only seven combined points were scored.
Northern Colorado at Montana: Freshman quarterback Gresch Jensen threw for 228 yards and three TD to help UM beat Northern Colorado 44-14. Jensen rushed for 30 yards and a TD. Northern Colorado turned the ball over seven times in the loss.
No. 14 Weber State at Portland State: The running back duo of sophomore Kevin Smith and freshman David Jones led WSU to a 63-17 drubbing of winless Portland State. Smith ran for 143 yards and two TD. Jones tallied 103 yards and a TD. Junior running back Treshawn Garrett pitched in 88 rushing yards and three TD. Altogether, WSU gained 421 yards on the ground as they literally ran all over PSU.
Montana State at No. 24 Northern Arizona: Sophomore running back Joe Logan rushed for 142 yards and two TD to lead NAU to a 37-36 victory against MSU. There were seven lead changes in this back-and-forth thriller. MSU scored with 32 seconds remaining in the game and elected to attempt a two-point conversion. It was denied, sealing the win for NAU.
Sacramento State at Cal Poly: Junior quarterback Kevin Thomson passed for 247 yards and three TD to lead the Hornets to a 49-14 win at Cal Poly. The Hornet defense held Cal Poly to just 289 total yards.
Individual Leaders: Passing- Jake Maier (UC Davis): 3,344 yards; Rushing- Jared Mohomed (Cal Poly): 1,065 yards; Receiving- Keelan Doss (UC Davis): 1,326 yards; Kicking- Trey Tuttle (Weber State): 16/18 field goals.
