Coming off a strong showing at their first tournament, the Thunderbird women’s tennis team. look to put up another solid performance at the Weber State Invitational.
Southern Utah had big performers in single and doubles at this tournament. Five of their eight players played in the championship or consolation championship or their draw.
Senior, Teresa de Enrique won her draw in singles defeating Sarah Iverson of Montana state 6-2 6-2 in the final.
The duos of Ghita Nassik/Alexandra Ngo and Charity Sagiao/Eira Tobrand of Southern Utah each reached the consolation finals of their respective doubles draw.
Sagiao and Tobrand came through to win their consolation final match 8-1.
The Weber State Invitational will be Southern Utah’s second tournament of their fall season.
This will be another great opportunity for Southern Utah to prepare for their regular season against the many conference opponents that will be competing at this invitational.
“It will be a very interesting weekend to see where our new players stand within the conference and how our returners are doing compared to last year,” said head coach, Rose Ketmayura.
