SUU Outdoors’ annual Halloween Costume Climb party

Southern Utah University Outdoors hosted their annual Halloween Costume Climb event on Friday, Oct. 30, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the SUU Physical Education Building

Community members and students showed up to climb in their costumes, checking in and receiving shoes for free before being helped by staff members. Participants had the opportunity to both boulder and climb with harnesses.

The event was free for everyone, and the employees were very helpful, encouraging kids to climb as high as they could, complimenting costumes and handing out pizza and candy.

“The costume climb is a great way to introduce young and beginner climbers to the amazing world of climbing,” student employee Finn Spencer said. “We had a great turnout and I love that SUU hosted this community event because climbing is a great way to connect with others and challenge yourself, both mentally and physically.”

This event lined up with another community Halloween celebration on campus, where community members could trick-or-treat with the housing department at the Eccles Living Learning Center from 4 to 6 p.m. before heading over to the costume climb.
