Where to recycle near Cedar City, Utah

Southern Utah has been committed to making it more convenient for residents to recycle. Locals are encouraged to collect recycling materials and drop them off at nearby recycling centers. These centers are located in Kanarraville, New Harmony and St. George. Each location accepts a range of materials, including metal, glass, cardboard, plastic and paper.

The closest recycling center to Cedar City is at 50 E. Center St. in Kanarraville, Utah. It is located next to the Kanarraville Fire Department’s parking lot. While this location doesn’t gather cardboard or glass, they do accept paper, metal and plastic.

New Harmony does not accept cardboard, however, they do accept all other materials; glass, metal, paper and plastic. The New Harmony location is located near the Harmony Valley Fire Department at 1388 S. Old Highway 91, New Harmony, Utah.

The St. George recycling center is located at 350 Community Center Drive, Washington, Utah. Nestled behind the Washington Recreation Center, they accept all materials including cardboard.

“I usually go to the recycling center in St. George, but since finding the New Harmony location, I’ve saved about an hour round trip,” said Shaylee McDonald, a local resident and frequent recycler.

The drive from Cedar City to St. George may pose challenges for some, which makes the New Harmony and Kanarraville locations a great option for those looking to save time and gas.

Recycling properly takes planning and organizing. All Southern Utah residents can utilize these centers for their recycling needs.
