February opportunities for SUU traditions and free food

For many college students, finding affordable food options can be a struggle. That’s why SUU Traditions is providing students with free food at numerous events and activities throughout the month of February.

Since free food is appealing to college students, SUU Traditions is using that as an opportunity to teach students about the various traditions that are important to the campus’s history. The first of these events is Dips After Flips, and it takes place on Friday, Feb. 6. Following the gymnastics meet against BYU, SUU students can go to Dippers and get free chocolate-covered bananas.

On Friday, Feb. 27, SUU is hosting Sips After Flips following the gymnastics meet that night. After cheering on the Flippin’ Birds, the first 200 students to arrive at The Soda Nerd on 133 W Harding Ave, will receive a free Thunderbird soda.

Gymnastics meets aren’t the only times free food can be found at SUU events. Regular events like Pizza and Politics can provide students with food and a taste of SUU as well. This weekly event is held every Wednesday at noon in the Leavitt Center. It provides students with an opportunity to debate and learn about political topics while eating  pizza.

With Valentine’s Day coming up, STIL is putting together an event called Spread the Love on Monday, Feb. 9. This event is designed to help students relax and celebrate sharing kindness with others. Food at the event will include a cereal bar, while activities like karaoke, letter writing and board games will also be available.

Information about all of these events and more can be found here. For more updates, check back on suunews.net.
