Thunderbirds Weather Forecast: Jan. 26 – Feb. 1

Hello T-Birds! It seems like Cedar City has skipped winter this year with its warm temperatures and lack of snowfall last week. According to local weather reports, next week’s forecast should not disappoint.

Monday, Jan. 26, and Tuesday, Jan. 27, feature mostly sunny conditions with temperatures reaching 47 degrees Fahrenheit. Nighttime temperatures will be in the low 20s with no precipitation and low wind speeds.

The temperatures on Wednesday through Friday will increase to the low 50s with partly cloudy conditions. Wind speeds will remain under 5 mph.

These higher temperatures will continue throughout the weekend. However, there is a chance of light snowfall on Sunday night. Snow accumulations are expected to be less than one inch.

These warmer days may be a good time for students to take an early season hike and visit some of the local natural wonders. Neighboring cities, like St. George, Utah, offer free or affordable walking trails and hikes, with temperatures almost 10 degrees warmer than Cedar City.

For indoor weekend activities, students can visit Off the Cuff Comedy for their weekly Friday night show, attend Free Movie Friday at Cedar Fun Center or go ice skating at KJ’s Ice Barn
