Due to the change in season, road closures are taking place in the near future in the Cedar City area.. Scenic Route 148 to Cedar Breaks remains open, although it has patchy snow-covered road conditions. Closure is estimated to happen within the next week or in early December, depending on snowfall.
Scenic Route 14, Cedar City to Long Valley Junction, also remains open with patchy snow-covered road conditions. It is estimated to close in early December, depending on snowfall.
Alternate routes include North Interstate 15 to Scenic Route 15 through Bear Valley or South Interstate 15 through Hurricane to Highway 59.
Scenic Route 143, Parowan to Panguich Lake, has icy road conditions but remains open for access to Brian Head Ski Resort. It will remain open throughout the winter but may temporarily close due to snowy or windy conditions.
Interstate 15 through Cedar City may be wet and slick due to precipitation this week. It is currently in good condition. Construction near Hamilton Fort will continue through the winter and is expected to be completed in early 2026.
