After three years, the ninth film of the “Predator” series was released in theaters on Nov. 7, 2025.
“Predator” is a typical alien-filled action movie, and “Predator: Badlands” did not disappoint for the well-known series. Even those who are not familiar with the sci-fi classic can enjoy this action-packed film.
“It is a thoroughly enjoyable action movie that will satisfy die-hards and newcomers alike,” said movie critic Victoria Luxford.
“Predator: Badlands” featured unique creatures of all shapes and sizes, engaging scenery and intense conflict, making it an entertaining film all throughout.
Actress Elle Fanning delivered an excellent performance as the character, “Thia.” Her character’s lovable personality, along with the unusual friendship of her and the Predator, contributed to the heartfelt storyline of the film.
“If a machine, or a studio, can produce a robot as fun as Thia, there’s hope for this franchise yet,” said critic Joshua Rothkopf.
Unlike most “Predator” films, which are rated R for strong violence and gore, “Badlands” brought a new, wholesome light to the gruesome character. The movie was rated PG-13 for “sequences of strong sci-fi violence,” and it is the second in the series to receive this rating, next to the 2004 film, “Alien vs. Predator.”
Regardless of the lighthearted aspects, “Predator: Badlands” is not for the faint of heart. The film still features disturbing elements, violent battles and horrific outcomes for many characters. Overall, it is still a sci-fi horror film.
“Predator: Badlands” will be available only in theaters until further notice. It is rumored to be streamed on Hulu in the near future. For more information on the film and its reviews, visit Rotten Tomatoes.
