Students can now access Canvas after an outage that started Sunday night. The systems for Amazon Web Services, AWS, were impacted by an internet outage that effectively shut down education systems nationwide.
Senior director for Southern Utah University Matt McKenzie said students should communicate with their teachers if tests or quizzes were affected by the outage.
“If you had assignments or quizzes due today, please work with your instructor to determine how to handle the issue,” McKenzie said. “We have communicated to faculty members that today’s Canvas outage was a nationwide issue.”
Although Canvas and other systems are available again, McKenzie said residual issues with McGraw Hill, Pearson and Zoom are possible.
