Bringing together countries and students alike from around the world, on Wednesday, Oct. 15, Southern Utah University’s Office of Learning Abroad hosted its annual Study Abroad Fair in the Sharwan Smith Student Center Living Room.
Adorned with flags and balloons representing nations across the globe, the event featured numerous booths highlighting destinations from all four corners of the world.
Associate Dean for the College of Performing and Visual Arts Keith Bradshaw discussed the upcoming trips he is planning for students in 2025 and 2026.
“First trip is going over Thanksgiving break. We’re going to Germany and Belgium to immerse ourselves in the Christmas culture over there” said Bradshaw. “And then the second trip, I’m taking the choir to Poland in May. We’re gonna visit five cities; Croow, Rlaw, Post non, Warsaw, and Gadansk. It’s going to be a great trip.”
Between these two educational trips, students will have the chance to visit numerous Christmas markets, discover Neuschwanstein Castle, climb to the top of the world’s tallest cathedral and sing with choirs from partner universities.
“My favorite moment was learning about all of the different places and programs there are,” said Imani Jackson, attendee at the event.
OLA has plenty to offer, with more than 65 international partner universities. It provides both international and domestic opportunities through five main program categories: Semester Exchange Abroad, Short-Term Study Abroad, Volunteer and Intern Abroad, National Student Exchange and Study Away.
“I honestly love these types of events and I do think that it benefits the students because it shows us all of the great things that the school itself has to offer us attending SUU,” added Jackson.
The Office of Learning Abroad is located in the Bristlecone Building, room 304. For more information visit its website or Instagram page.
