Why submit to SUU News?

Submit to SUU News

Southern Utah University News is a student-run news organization that covers events and information on and around campus. We have a team of reporters and editors who write articles for our website daily and also contribute to our print edition, the University Journal. However, in order to best represent the student body, we want to hear from you.

What can you submit?
After navigating to our Submit to SUU News page, you will be asked to fill out your name, email and declare your type of submission before filling out the message box. You can either submit a letter to the editor, a Dear Thor question, a guest column/ article or a news tip.

A letter to the editor is a brief message written to our editing staff about your opinion on a current issue. This letter can either be uploaded as is or developed into a more expansive article with the help of our team.

You can also submit a question to Dear Thor, our University Journal advice column where Thor the Thunderbird responds to questions and concerns ranging from dating drama to declaring a major.

We welcome guest articles or columns on our website and in our print journal. If you want to practice your journalism skills, submit a pitch or a completed article under the “Guest article/ column” prompt.

If writing an article isn’t really of interest to you, but you notice something newsworthy around campus, submit a news tip.

But, why?
At SUU News, we try our best to provide our readers with the most relevant information, but we are a small news team and don’t see everything. Having contributions from other campus members helps us build a well-rounded news page.

Those who submit can be involved as little — or as much — as they want. From an anonymous tipper to a weekly columnist, SUU News welcomes your submissions.
