The Larry H. Miller Utah Summer Games — an olympic-style sports festival hosted by SUU, announced a new partnership with BZI Steel last Tuesday.
BZI will sponsor the Summer Games, as well as become the title partner in association with an event at the Summer Special Olympics. BZI will provide volunteer support for both games.
“BZI is thrilled to support the Utah Summer Games,” said Spencer Douglas, chief marketing officer of BZI. “Our purpose as a business is to create high-value opportunities for our team members and help build thriving communities. The Utah Summer Games fits this purpose well in its mission.”
The Utah Summer Games strives to involve athletes of all ages and abilities in the Southwestern and Intermountain U.S., and its sponsors are essential to that goal. This brings a first-class experience to all the participants, forging a lifelong connection with SUU, Cedar City and Utah.
BZI additionally plans to sponsor an event at the Summer Special Olympics in May, hosting over 500 athletes with intellectual disabilities from around the state. This event will include a special performance from the Utah Shakespeare Festival, and other experiences representative of Iron County.
“We are incredibly grateful for BZI’s support, as well as the celebration it brings for our friends with Special Olympics Utah during their time on campus,” said Jon Oglesby, executive director of the games.
Registration for the 2025 Utah Summer Games is now open on their website.
