Thunderbirds travel to play Loyola Chicago

After the first 4-0 start in school history, the Southern Utah University men’s basketball team will travel to Chicago, Illinois to play Loyola University of Chicago on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 6:30 p.m. You can stream the game live on ESPN+

SUU is off to its best start in program history, and they are playing great team ball. SUU  has five players averaging 10 or more points per game. SUU’s defense has improved every game as well, allowing only 67.5 points per game, 10.1 points better than last season. 

Jamir Simpson has played great for Southern Utah. Simpson is leading the team in scoring, averaging 15 points per game.  

SUU will rely on their big men who have been major post presences this season. Brock Felder and Jamari Sibley have combined for 36 rebounds and 11 blocks thus far in the season, and they will undoubtedly play key roles in a win for SUU.

Loyola University of Chicago
Loyola is 4-0 on the season and will be looking to improve that record against SUU this season. The strength of this team is their roster depth. Nine players scored five or more points per game led by Jayden Dawson.  Dawson is averaging 16.5 points per game as well as an impressive 1.5 blocks and steals per game. 

Forward Jalen DeLoach has been big off the bench for Loyola Chicago. The Forward from Savannah, Georgia, is averaging 9.8 points per game on 70% shooting from the field. 

SUU is 1-1 all-time against Loyola Chicago.
