SUU Outdoors will host their annual Costume Climb

Southern Utah University Outdoors is ramping up for its annual costume climb and inviting students and the community to join in on the fun. This event will take place on Thursday, October 31, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the climbing wall in the J. L. Sorenson P.E. Building.

This event is open and free to all community members and students, but participants must be ages 6 and up and sign a waiver to climb.

“There will be three costume contest winners: most original, most effort and most authentic,” SUU Outdoors Program Coordinator Nicole Gramstad stated. “We will be offering SUU Outdoors shirts, equipment rental gift certificates and a chalk ball and bag as prizes for the winners.”

Voting for costume contest winners will take place on the SUU Outdoors social media account. There will be photos of participants in costume in their stories with a poll for each category. Voting will be open from 5 to 9 p.m., and winners will be announced at 9:30 p.m. You do not need to be present to win one of the prizes.

Along with the raffle, SUU Outdoors is hyping up this event with free pizza and candy for participants while supplies last.

“Students should come to the costume climb to meet new friends, enjoy free dinner and have some fun for the night,” said SUU Outdoors employee Joey Roberts. “The costumes make the climbing even more relaxed so there’s no pressure to send really hard climbs, instead there’s just fun vibes ”

This event will be very laid-back, fun and free to everyone! For more information about the Costume Climb stop by the SUU Outdoors Basecamp or check out their Instagram @suuoutdoors.
