Southern Utah University was ranked the best 4-year public university in the nation according to EdSight’s Student Voice Score for 2024.
The Student Voice Score (SVS) measures student satisfaction across higher education through elements such as academic experience, student life, community, campus facilities, resources and overall career preparations.
With SUU’s rounded student life and activities, many individuals on campus were pleased that it was ranked number one.
“I am so proud to represent SUU and honored to have been ranked number one,” SUU ambassador, Julia Carson said. “I am not surprised because SUU has more events than school days on campus. They are very inclusive and provide a great student social life.”
SUU administration believes this ranking shows the hard work that has been put forth in making it a desirable institution.
Jared Tippets, SUU Vice President of Student Affairs, says “we believe we have something special here at SUU, and the students have confirmed this with their response to the SVS. It is a testament to the dedication, care and concern that our amazing faculty and staff have for our students.”
In the report, over 57,000 student responses from over 100 institutions were included. These responses included different student populations to maintain an unbiased report.
This approach allows campuses nationwide to gain an understanding of their students’ satisfaction involving the college experience amongst diverse student populations.
