The Southern Utah University Gymnastics team will host their annual Red and White Preview on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. in the America First Event Center.
This free event will feature a family friendly environment, contests for the crowd and opportunities for fans to interact with the athletes and coaches.
“This is an opportunity for us to show the world what these athletes have been working on all off season,” said head coach Scott Bauman.
The gymnasts will be performing the majority of their routines as practice and as a way to get the community involved.
“Previews like this give our athletes a good chance to learn their home arena,” Bauman continued. “This gets these girls’ minds in the right place for the upcoming season which will give them a true home advantage in meets.”
This will also get the SUU fans back into the gymnastics mindset as well as give them opportunities to rub shoulders with the athletes.
“[These previews] help us get back into the flow of competing,” said senior gymnast Autumn Jorgensen. “The opportunities it gives the younger gymnasts are awesome too. It really just gives us a big boost to prepare for the season.”
The regular season of SUU gymnastics kicks off on Jan. 9 at home against the University of Nebraska.
