SUU Outdoor’s Upcoming Bouldering Competition

Students looking for an adventure 13 feet in the air can attend SUU’s Outdoors bouldering competition on Saturday April 13, from 8:30-5:00 pm in the PE building.

Intermediate and advanced climbers will be competing on the SUU rock climbing wall, pulling, flexing, and twisting along the way. With several routes in place, students and non-students will be able to experience the rush of all levels of climbing.

For those nervous about entering the competition, Noah Reynolds, a staff member at the SUU Outdoor Center and route setter for the competition says, “It’s gonna be a madhouse in here. You’ll meet a lot of people, and the atmosphere will be good and supportive. You shouldn’t take it too seriously…it’s just a good place to get involved in the climbing community.”

If bouldering doesn’t sound fun, students are still welcome to attend and watch, as well as enjoy the screening of Return 2 Sender, an inspiring film about the natural climbs around us. Those interested in competing should visit the SUU Outdoors Center website.
