International Education Week is here!

CEDAR CITY– The office of International Affairs is hosting their annual International Education Week November 12 through the 16 at Southern Utah University.

The week will have events each day including karaoke night, an African showcase, International movie night and a final service project of will rap up the week.

“We really wanted to make this week feel both fun and informative” David Jake Smith of the International Education Week planning board, said. “It’s all about having events that really bring people closer together.”

The International Affairs office has been planning this weeklong event for months and is excited to showcase several ways to be more globally aware while mixing domestic and international students in a week of activities.

“I hope that this week really lets some people get out of their comfort zone” Aubrey White, a study abroad student worker noted. “I know that the student population can sometimes need a little more mixing between international and domestic students and this is a great way to do it.”

Alongside going to all the events, International Education Week is also holding a drawing to win prizes for going to events throughout the week. The prizes include the chance to win a helicopter ride, a GoPro and a gift basket full of SUU swag.

To be entered in the drawing, students will either have to get a passport from the International Affairs office or print one out at the website here and collect stamps from each event they attend. The winners will be announced at the service project on Friday.

The next events will be on Tues Nov.13 starting with Hospitality Around the World at 11am in the International Affairs office and a Karaoke night starting at 7pm.
