The Black Student Union held a Mardi Gras style dance on Saturday, November 10th. The event was held in the student center ballroom and included formal attire. The cost to get in was $2 and during the dance, you could also have fun in a photo booth and make your own cocktails (non-alcoholic).
The music was provided by the black student Union and was a really great time. The man behind the idea and the one in charger Marcus Hastings had this to say about the event and the Black Student Union in a whole:
“This event is to show people that we aren’t so serious all the time and we are inviting to all cultures and races. We want everyone to feel included at SUU and have a great time.”
The Black Student Union wanted people to come out and see what it is all about and meet some really nice people.
Darryn, an attendee of the event, had this to say “I love the idea of this dance, I also love any excuse to dress up and have fun with my girlfriend.”
