Jake Vincent Named Big Sky Men’s Golfer of the Week Following Performance In St. George

Thunderbird sophomore Jake Vincent has been named Big Sky Men’s Golfer of the Week for his performance at the Pizza Hut-Pat Hicks Invitational.

Vincent finished second at the event, shooting a six-under 67 in the opening round and a 71 in the second to finish with a 138.

“It was big,” Vincent said following his performance at Sunbrook Golf Club. “I was hoping for something a little bit better, but it was a great start to the year and I’m hoping it leads to big things in the spring.”

In the fall, Vincent averaged a 73.00 through 12 rounds of golf.

This is Vincent’s first Golfer of the Week honor from the Big Sky Conference.

The Thunderbirds will move forward, and compete at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate in Palm Desert starting on Friday.

“We’ll just hopefully go out there, have a good time, and hopefully keep plugging along,” Vincent said looking forward to the upcoming weekend. “The team’s doing good things, so to see the team continue to do those things would be awesome.”
