The Southern Utah University women’s basketball team traveled to Eugene, Oregon Saturday to take on the No. 9 Oregon Ducks in Matthew Knight Arena. The Ducks were able to come away with the 98-38 victory.

The Lady T-Birds got down early in the first half as the Ducks put up a whopping 57 points in the opening half, including 31 points in the second quarter. The Thunderbirds were held to just 16 points in the first half.

The second half was an improvement defensively for the Thunderbirds, but they weren’t able to pick up the offense scoring just 22 points over the final 20 minutes of play.

Breanu Reid led the Lady T-Birds in scoring, dropping in 11 points and picking up four rebounds. Rebecca Cardenas scored six points, pulled down six rebounds, and dished out three assists.

The Thunderbirds will take just over a week off before returning to action on Monday December 18 in Arizona against Grand Canyon University.
