A Page from Jenna’s Journal: Babies

Living in Utah, babies are everywhere, occasionally, on campus. Being married, I spend a lot of my time with other married people and they tend to have babies. Additionally, I have cousins and family friends having babies, too. Now, babies are adorable and fun, but coming up with a gift for every baby shower can be difficult. This is a way The Crafty Nurse has found to spice up the necessities.

First, buy some socks and onesies in complementing colors. You’ll need one pair of socks for each onesie. Take one onesie and fold the sides toward the middle so the edges are straight. Then, fold the onesie in half.

Then, take a sock and fold it in half lengthwise. Place it on the folded onesie so the toe is hanging over the side.

Starting on the side with the sock, roll the onesie tightly to create the cupcake.

Take the matching sock and stretch the open end over the base of the “cupcake” to create a “liner.” Tuck the remaining sock into the inside of the “cupcake” to conceal it.

The Crafty Nurse suggests buying an empty cupcake box to make the gift extra special. Here are the three she made.
