North Dakota at No. 17 Southern Utah: Sophomore running back Jay Green scored three TD to lead SUU to a 47-21 win against North Dakota. Senior quarterback Patrick Tyler threw for 310 yards and two TD. Eleven different SUU players tallied receptions and nine of them caught multiple passes. Junior Alex Croyle had four receptions for 83 yards and two TD. Turnovers were a big storyline in the game as UND gave the ball away four times and SUU committed zero turnovers.
Kennesaw State at Montana State: Montana State surrendered 346 rushing yards in their 16-14 loss against Kennesaw State. MSU’s sophomore quarterback had 202 all-purpose yards and two total TD in the losing effort. Kennesaw State’s junior kicker Justin Thompson booted three field goals including the game winner with 1:55 left in the game. The win marked KSU’s eighth straight victory.
No. 19 Weber State at No. 11 Eastern Washington: Senior quarterback Stefan Cantwell tallied 230 passing yards and three TD to lead Weber State to a 28-20 road win against Eastern Washington. Cantwell also ran for 66 yards in the win.
UC Davis at Idaho State: UC Davis earned a blowout road victory in their 56-17 thumping of Idaho State. Sophomore quarterback Jake Meier led the charge with 358 passing yards and three TD. Meier also ran for a TD in the game. UCD’s senior running back Justin Williams ran for 92 yards and two TD.
No. 18 Northern Arizona at Montana: Montana ruined NAU’s perfect conference record with a 17-15 home victory. Montana’s senior wide receiver Makena Simis rushed for 101 yards. Sophomore wide receiver Jerry Louie-McGee returned a punt 48 yards for a TD in the first quarter to spark Montana. Possibly the biggest influence on the game was when NAU’s star quarterback, sophomore Case Cookus, was ejected on a questionable targeting call early in the game. NAU scored with 55 seconds left to pull within two, but they could not convert the two-point conversion.
Northern Colorado at Sacramento State: A trio of freshman led Sacramento State to a 50-21 win over Northern Colorado. Running back Elijah Dotson had 124 yards and two TD. Running back Isaiah Gable ran for 86 yards and a TD. Quarterback Roman Ale passed for 137 yards and two TD.
Portland State at Cal Poly: Cal Poly beat Portland State 35-28 to get their first win of the season and keep PSU winless. Senior fullback Jared Mohamed rushed for 194 yards and two TD to lead Cal Poly.
Individual Leaders: Passing- Jake Maier (UC Davis): 3,033 yards; Rushing- Chris Murray (Montana State): 940 yards; Receiving- Keelan Doss (UC Davis): 1,233 yards; Kicking- Trey Tuttle (Weber State): 16/18 field goals.
