No. 25 Southern Utah at Northern Colorado: The Thunderbirds led the whole way as senior quarterback Patrick Tyler threw for 294 yards, two TD and an interception in their 27-14 win over Northern Colorado. Tyler also rushed for a TD in the first quarter. Sophomore running back James Felila carried the ball 23 times, picking up 126 yards. SUU’s win moved them into second place in the conference.
Idaho State at Montana State: Sophomore quarterback Chris Murray threw two TD passes and ran for another TD to lead Montana State to a 28-14 victory against Idaho State. Murray had 231 passing yards and 67 rushing yards in the game. MSU’s senior linebacker Mac Bignell recorded an 18-yard pick-six in the fourth quarter.
No. 24 Montana at Weber State: Five turnovers doomed the Grizzlies as they dropped a 41-27 decision at Weber State. Despite being outgained 503 to 298 in total yardage, Weber State was able to notch the upset behind 197 passing yards and two TD from senior quarterback Stefan Cantwell. After being down 34-6 at halftime, Montana was able to cut the lead to 34-20 early in the fourth quarter. Then Weber State’s senior defensive back Jordan Preator got a pick-six to slam the door shut on Montana’s comeback attempt.
North Dakota at Portland State: North Dakota allowed only 290 total yards in a 48-21 win at Portland State. UND’s defense forced four turnovers to help spark the team after being down 14-3 in the second quarter. Junior running back Brady Oliveira ran for 55 yards and a TD to lead the UND offense.
Sacramento State at Northern Arizona: First-place NAU remains unbeaten in conference play following their 37-17 win against Sacramento State. Sophomore quarterback Case Cookus racked up 407 passing yards and a TD in the win.
Cal Poly at UC Davis: Sophomore quarterback Jake Maier led UC Davis to a 31-28 win against Cal Poly. Maier passed for 459 yards, four TD and two interceptions. Cal Poly drove the ball to the UCD 35-yard line with a minute left in the game before turning the ball over on downs, ending their comeback attempt.
