No. 8 Eastern Washington at Southern Utah: The Thunderbirds pulled off another upset on Saturday in their 46-28 triumph over the Big Sky leading No. 8 Eastern Washington. Senior quarterback Patrick Tyler threw for 183 yards, three TD and one interception in the win. Sophomore running back James Felila led the rushing game, totaling 143 yards and two TD. SUU freshman wide receiver Landen Measom caught eight passes for 57 yards and two TD. Four turnovers doomed EWU as junior quarterback Gage Gubrud threw three costly interceptions in the game. SUU’s win marked their third over a ranked opponent this season.
Sacramento State at North Dakota: Sacramento State’s freshman quarterback Roman Ale filled in for injured starter Kevin Thomson, throwing for 263 yards and two TD to lead the Hornets to a 34-27 road win over North Dakota. UND trailed 34-17 entering the fourth quarter and made things interesting before the Hornets ultimately held them off.
Montana State at Northern Colorado: Sophomore kicker Gabe Peppenger nailed a 27-yard field goal as time expired to lift Montana State to a 27-24 win over Northern Colorado. Sophomore quarterback Chris Murray threw for 222 yards, one TD and one interception in the win. Murray also ran for 150 yards and one TD.
Portland State at Idaho State: Idaho State amassed 691 total yards in their 59-30 win against Portland State. Junior quarterback Tanner Gueller gathered 327 passing yards and three TD for ISU. Sophomore running back Ty Flanigan racked up 108 yards and four TD. Junior running back James Madison pitched in 160 yards and one TD.
UC Davis at Northern Arizona: The Lumberjacks are the only team with an unbeaten conference record following their 45-31 victory over UC Davis. Sophomore quarterback Case Cookus passed for 293 yards, two TD and one interception in the win. Sophomore running back Joe Logan and junior running back Cory Young scored two TD apiece.
No. 23 Weber State at Cal Poly: The Wildcats’ defense held Cal Poly to only 179 total yards in their 17-3 road win. Although both offenses struggled, Weber State’s senior quarterback Stefan Cantwell managed to pass for 182 yards, two TD, and one interception.
Individual Leaders: Passing- Gage Gubrud (Eastern Washington): 2,658 yards; Rushing- Chris Murray (Montana State): 781 yards; Receiving- Keelan Doss (UC Davis): 976 yards; Kicking- Trey Tuttle (Weber State): 14/15 field goals.
