BYU Allows Caffeine

In what could be called the most “Utah of news”, Brigham Young University in Provo is now allowing the sale of caffeinated beverages in their dining hall.

Why is this a big deal?

First time in almost seven decades things like Diet Coke and Mountain Dew can be purchased on the BYU Provo campus.

Back in 2012 Carri Jenkins, a spokesperson for BYU, stated the lack of caffeinated drinks on campus was “not a university or church decision, but made by dining services, based on what our customers want.” However, social media posts from BYU students a mere five years later suggest that they view this new allowance of Coca-Cola and Pepsi as a blessing from God.
