On March 16, Southern Utah University announced via Instagram that Elder Jeffrey R. Holland, a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will be the keynote speaker for the 2023 commencement ceremony. Reaction to the announcement has garnered both excitement and disapproval. One of the most anticipated Southern Utah University performances, the Pacific Islander Student Association showcase, will be taking the stage at the Auditorium Theatre on March 16-18 at 6 p.m.
