Holidays are some of the busiest times for Brian Head Ski Resort. Located only 35 minutes away from Cedar City, many Southern Utah residents use their three-day weekend to visit the slopes.
President’s Day weekend from Feb. 13-16 is expected to be one of the most visited times for all ski resorts in the area. However, travelers indicate that Brian Head is significantly less busy and cheaper than neighboring resorts.
Lift tickets for Brian Head vary throughout the week, but prices will increase drastically for the weekend. The average ticket is $115-$140 for adults. Children under the age of 12 will still be able to attend for free.
The resort expects long lift lines, limited equipment availability and crowded restaurants. Despite the chaos, President’s Day weekend is a great time to take a trip up the mountain, as the weather and snow are expected to be suitable.
“Overnight we had a light dusting of 1 inch fall and we’re expecting another 2 inches to fall during the day today,” said the Brian Head weather report. “This will be a great warm up for the larger storm we have coming in early to mid next week.”
68 out of 73 trails and all eight lifts will be open for the weekend. Besides skiing and boarding, Brian Head will offer other activities for the holidays, including Love Lift Speed Dating on Valentine’s Day, Saturday, Feb. 14.
All of the resort’s renowned restaurants will be open, including 1st Chair Tai & Ramen for a warm bowl of soup and Pizanos Pizzeria for their famous pizza and Italian dishes.
This weekend’s lift tickets can be purchased on the Brian Head website. Rental equipment is available at the resort or in Cedar City at the SUU Outdoors Garage and Cedar Sports.
